DAYTON – The West Side School District started using iPads in the Beutler Middle School last week.
Superintendent Spencer Barzee told the school board students will be allowed to take the iPads home after the parent meetings on Oct. 8, 9. He said in order for students to take the iPads home, parents/ guardians are required to attend an iKeepSafe meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. in the Dahle Community Center in the middle school next to the library or on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 8 p.m. in the Dahle Performing Arts Center.
“Students are invited to attend the evening meeting. Representatives from iKeepSafe will be presenting a program dealing with digital citizenship and internet safety. Shortly after the week of Oct. 7, students will be allowed to take their iPads home.
“Middle school students will receive two days of additional instruction in their physical education/ health class from an iKeepSafe representative on digital citizenship. Teachers will follow-up with more information throughout the school year,” said Barzee.
