West Side football players had another tremendous game on Friday night defeating West Jefferson on their field in a landslide victory 55-16.
Next week the boys will be playing the American Falls Beavers. In preparation for the upcoming game, coach Tyson Moser said, “The plan this week is to continue to improve. I feel like we have gotten a lot better in the last two weeks and that trend needs to continue.”
In the first quarter of the game, West Side put up 13 points. The first touchdown was scored by Trevor Montes and was followed by a kick from Coby Roholt. After a fumble by the Panther offense, West Side’s Jantz Ebanez ran the ball for another early touchdown.
Quarterback Peyton Brown threw a completed pass to Ebanez in the second quarter and Ebanez ran it 41 yards for another touchdown. Later in the same quarter Montes ran the ball for a TD which was followed by a two-point conversion, leaving the score 27-0 at the half.
The Panthers were not able to halt the Pirate offense in the third. Wyatt Beckstead scored another six points with a seven-yard run, followed by another two-point conversion. Roholt scored the next touchdown and Beckstead had a nice 19-yard run to the end zone for another six. Following Beckstead’s TD, Roholt had another kick for the extra point. Ebanez finished off the third with a 62-yard run for a TD and the extra point was good. At the end of the third, the Pirates were up 55-0.
