Bob Geddes, Franklin County native and former area legislator and Senate Pro-tem, has joined the staff of the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation and will work as an energy and natural resources specialist with the company.
Geddes was born in Preston and spent the bulk of his career working as an environmental engineer for Monsanto in the Soda Springs area. He grew up on a wheat and barley farm in Franklin County and graduated from Preston High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Utah State University in 1981.
Geddes told The Citizen his new job will be a full-time position and he will also work part-time for Monsanto as a government affairs lobbyist in the Legislature dealing with electrical issues.
“I am excited to work for Farm Bureau. I have a background in agriculture and that will aid me in working for the organization. Farm Bureau has an agenda and philosophy that I agree with,” he said.
