Defense helps Preston to first win of season

A stellar defensive effort helped the Preston Indians notch its first win of the season in a home opener Friday night.

Preston rolled over the Marsh Valley Eagles in a non-conference game 34-7.

Preston now turns its attention to Homecoming on Friday night against the Rigby Trojans.

The defense came up with five turnovers during the night at O.R. Cutler Field. Three of them were fumble recoveries and two were interceptions. Coach Nick Hyde praised his team’s defensive effort.

Hyde said it was the best defensive effort he’s seen since becoming head coach.
