Kyalynn, Johnston 11, will be holding another “Cancer Sucks Car Wash” and raffle on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Lamont’s Automotive Repair, 89 N. State, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We are hoping to get volunteers to help with the car wash,” said Jill Parrish, Johnston’s mother.
“We have a year’s supply of Pepsi products, a cord of cut wood and a rim dip or silicon drip for car rims as prizes for this year’s raffle.”
The tickets cost $1 each or $5 for six tickets.
This year organizers will also have a bake sale and sell some of Johnston’s hand-made jewelry at the same time as the car wash.
Johnston and Mandi Buttars, who helped, made about $1,000 for their cause during rodeo weekend.
“We still have people sending in donations from rodeo weekend,” Johnston’s mother said. “We had people jump out of their cars and help us.”
This year they plan on helping Penny Christensen, Dayton, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor and another woman that has breast cancer.
Last year they raised $1,800. This year they have already raised about $1,000.
Anyone wanting to help with the car wash, to donate a baked good for the sale or to buy a raffle ticket can call Mandy Buttars 208-406-9318 or Jill Parrish 208-705- 8280.
