A Diabetes Awareness Run will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday in front of the Robinson Fair Building.

The activity is part of the Franklin County Fair.

2013 BABY CONTEST 3X5.5

Organizer Lisa Gleed said this is the second year of the run aiming to inform the public about Type-1 Diabetes.

“Last year we had 160 participate. This year we’ve already had at least 105 sign up.

“We’re encouraged by the interest,” she said. “We will register runners on Saturday morning from 7-7:45 a.m.”

Gleed said there will be “door prizes” following the run at approximately 9 a.m.

“We have both a 5K and one-mile run option. The run is oriented to families and is a very family-friendly race.”
