DAYTON – Three new teachers will greet students in the West Side School District when school begins.
Emily Transtrum, from St. Charles, will be teaching at the Harold B. Lee Elementary School in the second grade. She graduated from Utah State with a degree in elementary education.
Nate Woodward, a West Side High School alumni and Weston native, will teach music education at West Side High School.
He is a graduate of BYU-Idaho with a degree in music education.
He has spent the last three years teaching music at Wayne High School in Bicknell, Utah.
Lawrell Cook, a former West Side trustee, will teach math and physical education at the Beutler Middle School this fall.
Cook has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in economics and human resources, respectively, from Utah State.
Cook is retiring from the military and has spent the last 11 years teaching at Utah State.
