The annual Franklin County Fair will start this Saturday with a ranch rodeo in the arena at the fairgrounds and will continue next week with a variety of events, from entertainment to the bull bonanza.
“Things have come together,” fair committee chair Wes Harris said. “We expect a good week with lots of things that should appeal to everyone.
“We’re going to have a number of animals… probably about what we’ve had the past couple of years. I’m excited about how things have shaped up. We have lots of excellent entertainment, vendors and food booths and I hope the public supports us,” he said. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the events.”
“There apparently is a conflict with other regional motocross events on Aug. 10. So it was decided to go with the ranch rodeo instead of the traditional motocross. The rodeo is being organized by area residents Burke Smith and Tana Beckstead. It will begin at 7 p.m. in the rodeo arena,” Harris said this week.
Laura Roberts, in charge of entertainment, said a set schedule for entertainment and acts have been pinned down.
