Fifth-annual event scheduled for Aug. 17
By ROBERT S. MERRILL
The fifth-annual Franklin County Car Show will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Preston City Park from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Car buffs from around the county and beyond will have the opportunity to show off their “pride and joy.”
There will be 25 categories this year from early antiques, sports cars, restored originals, hot rods, motorcycles and jeeps.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and award presentations begin at 3 p.m. This year the awards have been made locally and are very unique. The first 100 entrants will receive a dash plaque.
“Every entrant will be given a list of cars entered in each category and they will vote on their favorites. All judging will be done by those entrants who appreciate all the hard work that goes into these vehicles on display,” said Sally Moser, who is helping organize the event.
“A committee was formed five years ago to organize the activity that has become a welcome addition to the fair.”
