Accident claims two Preston residents

CARIBOU COUNTY – A three-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon in Caribou County claimed two Preston residents.
Idaho State Police said on Sunday at approximately 4:39 p.m. they investigated a three-vehicle accident on State Highway 34 at milepost 106 in Caribou County, six miles from the Wyoming border.
Braxton Carter, 21, of Roy, Utah, was driving west on State Highway 34 in a 2004 Ford F250 pulling a trailer carrying a 2008 Malibu Wakesetter boat. Carter was travelling with passenger Madison Jorgensen, 20, of Layton, according to ISP.
“Troy Twiss, 44, of Preston was travelling east on State Highway 34 on a 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle with passenger Jerusha Twiss, 44, also of Preston,” ISP officials said. “Delbert Suter, 26, of Bedford, Wyoming was also travelling east behind Twiss with passenger Stacia Suter, 23, and their infant in a 2012 Ford Focus.
“The trailer being pulled by Carter fishtailed and first struck Twiss’ motorcycle and then Suter’s vehicle.”
Troy Twiss was transported by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello where he died. Jerusha Twiss was transported by ground ambulance to Star Valley Medical Center in Afton where she was pronounced dead.
Delbert and Stacia Suter were transported by ground ambulance to Star Valley Medical Center where they were treated and released. Their infant was not injured. Carter and Jorgensen were not injured.
All parties in the Ford F250 and Ford Focus were wearing seatbelts. The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were both wearing helmets, ISP officials continued.
Both lanes were blocked for approximately 2 hours. One lane was blocked for an additional 1.5 hours.
