Franklin city administrator, Jeremy Kimpton, threatened to “clean out” his office after a group of citizens sent a letter to the city council that questions his education, personal life, misuse of city time for his own personal pleasure and anger issues. Attached was a request to enact new ordinances and budget amendments through the initiative process. They also asked that “every council agenda shall include agenda item ‘Public Forum’, allowing the public to speak to council of concerns that are not on the agenda or do not have a public hearing.”

Council member Stanton Smith said he feels there should be an official open segment of the agenda, while member Jaron Hatch said agenda matters need to go through the mayor for review. No decision was made on the public forum.

During the discussion, Kimpton told council and the group of nearly 20 that he was ready to quit. He accused members of the group of harassment and causing personal problems for his family. “I am done,” said Kimpton. “I am ready to clean out my office.”
