DAYTON – The West Side School District has a new superintendent and a high school principal.
Spencer Barzee, named in April 2012 as assistant superintendent, has assumed responsibilities to lead the district.
Tyler Telford, who has served as the middle school principal and high school athletic director, took over last week as high school principal. He will retain his duties as the athletic director.
“I am excited to begin my position as superintendent of the West Side School District. It will be an honor to work with the community in this capacity. We are fortunate to have such a high caliber of students, patrons and district employees that contribute to the success of our district. I appreciate the confidence from the Board of Trustees and look forward to working with them,” said Barzee.
“Mr. Telford did an exceptional job this year fulfilling his roles as the middle school principal and high school athletic director. He has a solid understanding of finances and curriculum delivery, as well as the importance of extracurricular activities and rigorous academics,” Barzee continued.
“Additionally, he recognizes the delicate balance between these essential programs in our district. We are excited to have Mr. Telford as the new principal of West Side High School and his continued role as the athletic director.”
