A 20-year lease for the property was signed 11 months ago by the council and local resident, Jim Read. Read started a business known as Preston Fabrication and Machine.

The business now employs seven people and Read is in the process of selling it to Michael Crane. The business is located in a building that was once occupied by Moser Truss.
