A request to transfer a 20-year lease to a “new” owner of a business at Preston’s Industrial Park was taken under advisement by the Preston City Council until attorney Clyde Nelson can review the document
A 20-year lease for the property was signed 11 months ago by the council and local resident, Jim Read. Read started a business known as Preston Fabrication and Machine.
The business now employs seven people and Read is in the process of selling it to Michael Crane. The business is located in a building that was once occupied by Moser Truss.
The fabrication building sits on 2.5 acres of city-owned land and the lease is for the property.
