Thousands of Jehovah’s Witnesses from Idaho, Utah and Wyoming will congregate at the annual district convention for Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Dee Events Center located on Weber State University’s campus in Ogden starting on June 28.
The three-day God’s Word Is Truth! Convention is held all over the world from spring to fall. The convention’s goal is to answer why the Bible is true.
“There is typically around 5,000-to-6,000 people that show up,” said Paris resident Bruce Bingham, the coordinator over the body of Elders of the Preston congregation.
The convention will contain six-to-eight symposiums with four-to-six speakers in each symposium. Speakers will discuss Bible principles and expected conduct for members.
“Brothers who are asked to speak will be given topics to discuss,” Bingham said. “They vary from year-to-year, so I’m not sure who is going to speak.”
Besides speakers, the convention will have three live dramas and several audio dramas in an attempt to bring the Bible to life.
“The audio dramas play dramatic readings of the Bible and you can follow along,” Bingham said.
Throughout the three-day convention, most members stay at either a hotel or private homes of members. However, some choose to bring their recreational vehicles and camp in the local RV parks.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are not the only ones invited to the gathering.
