A Preston bowler will be representing the area and Idaho next month in the Junior Gold National Bowling Championships in Detroit.
Misty Inglet competed in Boise recently at the 2013 Idaho State Pepsi Bowling Championships and finished in the top two in the entire state. That placing advanced her to a spot in the national championships.
The Junior Gold Championships is a week-long tournament which features top youth bowlers from across the nation competing for national titles, as well as a spot on a Junior Team USA.
More than $2,500 in scholarships will also be awarded to those who manage to finish in the top spots. It’s a highly competitive and prestigious tournament and it’s a great accomplishment for Inglet, according to Saundra Hubbard, past president of the Idaho State Women’s Bowling Association.
“I’m just so excited to be able to have this opportunity to put Preston on the map,” Inglet said. “I think it will really be a great experience for me and I am looking forward to it.
