Council members voted to approve Buttars’ appointment, which will end in January. Elections for the position will be held in November.

Buttars served previously on the council from 2004 to 2012. He was given the oath of office by Mayor John Gailey.

Council approved a water hook-up for the residence of LeGrand Levitt, the first of three allowed during the calendar year.
