Kelly Spackman, owner of Kelly’s Convenience Stores, is making an investment in the future of Preston by speaking to the appetites of his clientele.
He updating and building new eating areas in his existing facilities.
B.J. Larsen, operations manager, announced the company is changing offerings at the Exxon Station, 113 N. State. Chester’s Fried Chicken will be moved up front by the cash register and Fat Kelly’s burgers will be opening in its spot.
Fat Kelly’s burgers is a take off of Five- Guy’s Burgers. The meat and fries will be fresh, not frozen and cooked while the customer is there.
“We’re pretty excited. We feel like this do well here,” Larsen said. “We have redesigned the restaurant area and expect to hire about 10 more people to help.”
