The information age has not left Franklin County Medical Center behind.
“Growth in computer systems has nearly exploded at FCMC in recent years due to federal government mandates known as ‘meaningful use,’” Hospital Administrator Mike Andrus said at a recent board meeting.
A report on computer systems at the medical center was presented to the board in May by Trevor Hatch, FCMC clinical software director and Kevin Rogers of Idaho iTech.
The pace of change has increased the number of work stations nearly 12-fold over the last 15 years, with an accompanying, “dramatic increase in other infrastructure and features,” Andrus said.
Accomplishments and projects under way were reviewed. In addition, processes in place to coordinate problem resolution and other associated growing pains were also discussed, he said.
