For those from Franklin County commuting to Logan on the Cache Valley Transit District (CVTD) buses, there is a major remodeling project scheduled for the Transit Center at 500 N. 150 E., Logan.
The construction is slated to begin on Monday, June 3, and will require bus operations to relocate into the middle of 500 North between 100 East and 200 East.
Passengers will board the north side of the Transit Center on 500 North, which will be closed to vehicle traffic. Existing route and time schedules should not change.
During construction, the Transit Center lobby, ticket counter and restrooms will remain open. The initial construction should be finished by early July. The entire remodeling project is expected to be complete by the end of August.
When completed, the Transit Center remodeling will accommodate additional buses and will have wider driveways to improve bus circulation. There will also be covered canopies built to improve waiting areas for passengers. A heated concrete sidewalk system will be installed to reduce winter ice build up and improve water drainage.
The $1.1 million project will be funded with a combination of local, federal transit and federal highway congestion mitigation air quality funds.
For additional information on the construction or bus schedules please call (435) 752-2877.
