Summers gets Teacher of Year nod

DAYTON – West Side’s long-time instructor in agriculture sciences and technology was recently recognized at the Teacher Education and Leadership (TEAL) awards ceremony at Utah State University in Logan, Utah.

Jim Summers, who has served as an ag science teacher at West Side High School for 39 years, has served as a cooperating teacher training 35 prospective agriculture teachers during his teaching career.

The TEAL awards were presented through the College of Education at USU. Summers was awarded the Secondary Education Outstanding Cooperating Teacher of the Year.

Jim enjoys living in Preston and being involved in the activities in Franklin County.
