Some 200 people showed up for the Valley Wide Home and Ranch grand re-opening and 2013 Purina Check-R-Board Days customer appreciation event on Friday to thank customers in the Preston community for their support. Valley Wide Home and Ranch kicked off the grand event Friday and it continued through Saturday.

The festivities began with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Greater Preston Business Association, and a Wild West shootout with plenty of food and other activities.

The Preston and West Side High School FFA clubs sold $1 hamburgers with the proceeds going to the two local FFA chapters.

A drawing for a $500 flat screen television was held Monday afternoon. There were also special prices on selected merchandise throughout the store to commemorate the occasion.

Customers at the Valley Wide re-opening celebration got a real treat Friday afternoon when actors from American West Heritage Center in Wellsville staged a shootout. The shootout was part of the day’s events.
