The Preston track team participated in the YMCA Invitational in Middleton on Friday and Saturday last week. Out of 40 schools, the girls placed 13th and the boys 22nd.
Olivia Seamons took third in the 100m and fifth in the triple jump. Kenidee Hyde placed fifth in pole vault. The girls 4×200 team was fourth and the girls medley also came in fourth.
For the boys, Ryden Crowther took fourth in the 3200m and the boys medley came in fifth.
The Indians also competed in the Star Valley Invite on April 24. Some highlights there were McKay Dodge placing second in both shot and discus; Vinny Silva with third in the triple jump and sixth in high jump; and Spencer Erickson’s sixth place discus.
Becca Visser took fourth in the 800m and Kayla Palmer was fifth in the 3200m. Lucie Gajdosova placed fifth in shot and Morgan McKay also placed sixth in long jump.
At the Tiger/Grizz Invitational in Idaho Falls on April 19-20 the Indians did very well. The girls took third place overall and the boys were ninth out of 25 schools.
Seamons placed fifth in the 100m and 200m, as well as second in the triple jump. Aunika Crowther was fifth in the freshman mile and Caitlin Elgan took sixth in the 3200m.
Hyde was second in the 100m hurdles and pole vault while fellow Indians Whitney Alder (100m hurdles) and Bailey Roberts (pole vault) came in third and fourth, respectively.
Ryden was fourth in the 1600m and 3200m. Johnny Iverson took sixth in the 110m hurdles, fourth in the 300m hurdles and fifth in high jump. Silva was sixth in the triple.
Tyce Anderson, Tyler Wakley and Colton Keller placed third, fifth and sixth, respectively in the freshman 110m hurdles.
On Friday, May 3, the Indians will travel to Grace and the district meet will be May 8-9 at ISU in Pocatello.
