WESTON – A Weston City ordinance requiring a permit and fee be paid by any bicycle racing group coming through the city has received “real positive feedback” so far.
Mayor Camille Larsen said bike rider group representatives are meeting with city officials and being told why the ordinance was enacted.
“The one race we had a problem with (last year) will still come through Weston, but they will not come back through the city” on their return to Utah, she said.
In that race, some bike riders reportedly caused safety concerns by riding on both sides of the highway, impeding farm-related and other traffic.
