Preston struggled last week losing to Malad 5-1 on Wednesday, April 10, in Malad and then two conference games to Bonneville, one away (16-0) and one at home (33-0).
“We are still trying to find our stride as a team, but all of this experience for the younger guys is going to make us better,” said Coach Brandon Ormond. The more high-caliber pitching we see, the better off we will be in the long run.”
Saturday, April 13, was the annual Little Warrior Kick-Off Camp for all baseball enthusiasts from second-sixth grade. “We had 66 participants, both boys and girls, who turned out for a great day of baseball instruction and fun.
“The weather was good enough to stay outside, even though the wind kept their cheeks rosy,” Ormond said. “Overall, it was a fun day at the ballpark. We would like to thank those kids who participated as well as those businesses who sponsored lunch, La Tienda, Stokes and Sam’s Club in Logan.”
The varsity will host the 10th annual Tony Hansen Tournament on Friday and Saturday, April 18-19.
