The West Side High School alumni recently sponsored its annual basketball tournament.

FLAGS WEST 2X3.5 11-7

There were eight teams competing this year.

This year the oldest team, years 1949-1993, won the tournament. 1949 was the first year of West Side High. The “Old Guys” played the team from the years 1997-2000. It was a low scoring game that was tied at the end of regulation, 34-34. Finally in the eighth overtime the team with the most “life experience” were the victors 43-41.

Pictured from left to right and the year they graduated: Lance Henderson, '87; Don Fuller, '85; Greg Bingham, '90; Curt Fuller, '92; Val Bingham, '93; Aaron Lemmon, '90; Vance Nielsen, '92; and Kip Nash, '92. Winners are seen wearing their championship shirts.
