The Preston High School Academic Decathlon team took first place in the medium schools division at state competition held in Boise last weekend.
The win qualifies members to compete in the National Academic Decathlon online competition in April.
The team also won the MelloDee Thornton Team Award for Excellence by being the school in the entire state, across all size divisions, to have the largest increase in team scores compared to the average scores of the past five years.
PHS Aca-Deca Team Captain Bethany Jensen won first place overall individually in the state honors category and received a $300 scholarship.
