The Franklin County Theatre Arts Council has a line on a video projector they hope will save them more than half the estimated $70,000 price tag.
Board Member Paul Swainston said a theater in Payson, Utah, was upgrading its projectors and offered the older ones to the local council at a reduced price. The Christy CP 2000 ZK video projector will cost $25,000 with the server and sound equipment. But it does not include the lens. The lens and installation fee will be around $13,000, plus sales tax. The total package will cost about $40,000.
Swainston said the board is behind it (the effort) 100 percent. They just need to raise the money. “It isn’t cheep. But it’s a lot less than the $70,000 we were looking at,” he said.
