Crews are clearing off a lot where a new Tesoro gas station/c-store will be located on the south end of Franklin adjacent to the Legacy Ranch subdivision.
Men and equipment from Birch Creek Landscape and Excavation are removing the clay and adding fill dirt to get the property to drain properly so the foundation of the new enterprise can begin.
Dave Bessinger, of Cache County, the owner of several convenience store/gas stations in the Logan area, purchased the property with plans to open another one of his fueling stations.
There are plans to put in a restaurant and get licenses to sell beer and wine. Bessinger also plans to apply to the state lottery commission to sell lottery products.
The property is on the west side of the Legacy Estates close to Highway 91.
