DAYTON – West Side School District’s annual supplemental levy override election will be held this Tuesday, March 12.
The election this year will be conducted by the Franklin County Clerk’s office. A new law, passed two years ago by the Idaho Legislature, places the county clerk’s office in charge of all elections in the county and includes all school district, city, fire and library district elections, among others.
Camille Larsen, county elections clerk, said polling places for the override election will be at the West Side High School Library, the Clifton Community Center and the LDS Church in Weston.
“Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents need to go to the voting precinct where they are registered,” she said. “Absentee voting is on-going. Anyone with questions about the election can contact our office.”
School officials are asking patron support of a $90,000 override. Only a simple majority is needed for the measure to pass.
