Sharla Thain has managed the Cub River Guest Ranch at 1942 N. Deercliff Road for a couple of years. The ranch has been a great diversion from her work with the students at Oakwood Elementary in Preston where she works as a para-educator.
“I like to interact with different people, mostly adults after being with children all day,” said the mother of four. Her children, ranging from seven-to- 15 years of age, help at the operation, but mostly in the summer when they are out of school.
During their school break, they are assisting with what needs to be done around the buildings, campgrounds and RV pads. Then they have a chance to swim in the warm-spring heated pool.
