The Preston wrestlers traveled to Pocatello for the Dick Fleishmann Memorial tournament on Friday. This tournament is unique in that it showcases a dual-meet format only two weeks from the district meet.
It pits Eastern Idaho teams against those from Central Idaho.
The Indians first tangled with 4A juggernaut Nampa. Kieton Keller, Cameron Dietrich, Gio Silva and Tayson Reid each came away with wins.
In their next dual with Jerome, Seth Gregory won by an 11-8 score, Silva won with a 12-3 score, and Dietrich, Devin Porter, and Justin Longhurst each pinned their opponents. Keller and Derrek Kulicke picked up forfeit points for Preston.
Sugar Salem was next up for the Indians and Dietrich won 11-6. Gregory, Keller, Porter, Silva and Reid each pinned their men.
Competing against a Timberline team, Preston’s Sage Buckingham won, 6-5 and Kulicke came from behind to nail down a pin in the final seconds of his match.
